Commonwealth Junior Fencing Championships 2006 – Invitation

First Commonwealth Junior Fencing Championships

This is for the first time that the Commonwealth Junior Championships will be held in the World, Asia and the Commonwealth regions and the privilege of hosting the Championships has been entrusted by the Commonwealth Fencing Federation to the Indian Federation - the Fencing Federation of India (FFI) - who in turn has bestowed the honour of organising this unique maiden international event in India to the Tamil Nadu Fencing Association, one of the  affiliates of the National Federation
 

 Dates: 24th to 29th January, 2006
Venue: Jawaharlal Nehru Multi-purpose Indoor Stadium, Periamet, Chennai (Tamil Nadu – India)
Responsible Organisation Fencing Federation of India (FFI)
Tamil Nadu Fencing Association (TNFA)
Commonwealth Fencing Federation (CFF)


The competition will be conducted according to the FIE rules in all the three weapons i.e. Epee, Foil and Sabre, both for men and women. Each participating nation-member of the CFF will be eligible to enter fencers in all the three weapons, not exceeding four fencers per weapon per nation in 'individual' events and one 'team' per nation per weapon consisting of 4 fencers per team, including one reserve. The participating fencers must be less than 20 years of age on 1 st January, 2006 i.e. born on or after 31st December, 1986.
